The Cardinal fires more salvoes, this time against Easter romps
Apr 27, 2006
The Cardinal Nicolas de Jesus Lopez Rodriguez called "inconsequent, superficial, flighty and without brains in the head," the organizers of celebrations and shows during Easter.
(Dominican Today, April, 11 2006) SANTO DOMINGO. - His criticism comes days after he bashed the gay community in Santo Domingo after residents in this city's Colonial Zone complained of increasing activities by homosexuals.
He attributed to the lack of conscience in those "uncultured and pitiful," for staging activities distanced from the resurrection.
The Dominican Catholic Church’s most senior official said that the church has no interest in pagan festivities, which have been organized for this Holy weekend.
Lopez Rodriguez affirmed that Christians and those that believe in Christ don’t take part in those types of actions.
In his opinion, the people who partake of those activities "live like the animals that are missing two legs, it’s that simple.”
