Cardinal Lopez Rodriguez rejects gay marriage

Santo Domingo.- Cardinal Nicolas de Jesus Lopez Rodriguez asked yesterday that members of the Judiciary and civil courts reject “categorically the pretences of homosexuals to marry.”
(dominicantoday.com, January, 8 2006) He added that those initiatives do not resemble reality but are “aspects of irreparable indignity and sin because from the beginning God established that marital unions be between a man and a woman.”
Lopez Rodriguez made his statements during the mass commemorating Justice Branch Day.
