Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone (bio - news), the Vatican Secretary of State, has spoken out against an anti-discrimination campaign in Italy that has sought to persuade the public that homosexuality is an innate characteristic.
Rome, Oct. 25, 2007 (CWNews.com) - Cardinal Bertone said that the publicity campaign, intended to curb bias against homosexuals, “is not a good idea,” the ANSA news agency reports. The cardinal said that the most striking feature of the campaign, a poster showing an infant labeled as a homosexual, is “a bit strange.” He said: “They shouldn't have gone that far.”
