English Saints testify hope in world
Nov 06, 2005
"The saints testify the hope there is in the world, a hope which the world needs a lot. Hence, it needs saints, especially where evil gains the upper hand".

(AGI) - Milan, Italy, Nov.1 – These are words of Milan archbishop, cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi, celebrating the All Saints mass, and quoting pope Benedict XVI at the WYD in Cologne: "throughout history, the saints have been the real reformers, leading the peoples out of darkness. The real revolution, the real changes, comes from the saints, from God. It's not ideologies that can save the world".

The cardinal said he is very negatively impressed by "the evil spreading throughout the world in several forms. We are impressed by the terrible natural disasters and by human iniquity that pollutes the heart and unleashed hatred, injustice, violence, wars, terror, death and, above all, sin! The foremost concern regards the moral and religious condition of society, but even the superficiality and mediocrity of the very ecclesiastic communities".
